Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. - Psalm 23:4
You have allowed me to suffer much hardship, but you will restore me to life again and lift me up from the depths of the earth. You will restore me to even greater honor and comfort me once again. - Psalm 71:20-21
Worldly pleasures bring a temporary comfort, but the problems still remain when the pleasure or comfort fades. However the words of God are soothing and provide permanent hope and peace. Through God's Word, you will be changed, and your troubles will dim in the bright light of Christ.
Thank You, Father, for the rich comfort Your Word provides. Help me to remember to find my comfort in scripture rather than through earthly things.

Do not worry then, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. - Matthew 6:31-33
I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. - Philippians 3:8
Are you a good steward of your finances? Ask the Lord to help you control your spending by leading you into wise decisions. He wants you to enjoy the beautiful things He created, but only after you have earned that they mean nothing compared to the treasure found in Christ.
Father, thank You for all Your blessings. Help me to spend wisely and to remain focused on the greatest treasure. You.
