Day 68 Friendship

Day 68 Friendship
Wednesday, November 30, 2016

And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings. - Luke 16:9

Three of Job's friends heard of all the trouble that had fallen on him. Each traveled from his own country...and went together to Job to keep him company and comfort him. Job 2:11

We can become so wrapped up in the tasks we are trying to achieve that we forget that life is about people - the relationships - God has put around us. We need each other as friends, family, or just passing acquaintances, in order to live successful lives. God measures His wealth in souls. That should be our focus too.

Lord, help me to know when it is time to drop the task and run to the relationship.

Amen.

Day 67 Recognition

Day 67 Recognition
Tuesday, November 29, 2016

Solomon rode high on a crest of popular acclaim—it was all God's doing. God gave him position and honor beyond any king in Israel before him. - 1 Chronicles 29:25

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. - Matthew 6:6

Perhaps your behind the scenes sacrifices are going unnoticed by the world. Do not give up and think it doesn't matter. It matters to God. Seek to please Him above anyone else, and your life will honor Him.

Lord, may what I do in secret bring glory to You. May I not seek man's approval, but Yours alone.

Amen.

Day 66 God's Presence
Monday, November 28, 2016

But now God has made you his friends again. He did this through Christ's death in the body so that he might bring you into God's presence as people who are holy, with no wrong, and with nothing of which God can judge you guilty. - Colossians 1:22

Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say he is. - Amos 5:14

Sometimes we have trouble feeling God's presence, especially in troublesome situations. God has told us that He will never leave us. So if we feel as is God is not near, perhaps the distance is of our own choosing. Look into the goodness of God's Word. Seek His face. Proclaim that He is standing by your side. And He will be, just as you said.

Thank you, Lord, for always being with me. With You by my side, I will live! I will overcome all. Thank you for being immovable.

Amen.

Day 65 Change

Bible promises for Women.
Day 65 Change
Sunday, November 27, 2016

When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, "If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt." - Exodus 13:17

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. - Ecclesiastes 3:1

Change is a regular part of modern life. Jobs shift or disappear. Friends move. Babies are born, and children graduate and marry. Only one thing in our lives never change: God. When our world swirls and threatens to shift out of control, we can know that God is never surprised, never caught off guard by anything that happens.

Lord, help me remember Your love and guidance when my life turns upside down. Grant me wisdom for the journey and hope for the future.

Amen.

Day 64 Prayer
Saturday, November 25, 2016

I am the one who has seen the afflictions that come from the rod of the Lord's anger. He has walled me in, and I cannot escape. He has bound me in heavy chains. And though I cry and shout, he has shut out my prayers. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this:The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. - Lamentations 3:1, 7-8, 21-22

I will answer their prayers before they finish praying. - Isaiah 65:24

God alone knows what we need before we ask. He even knows what we need before we know we know the need. Life may take us by surprise, but never the Lord God, who knows the end from the beginning. He knows what is behind, what's ahead, and what's now. He will hear your prayers.

I praise You, Lord, that you surround me through all of life. Keep my eyes of faith on You, I pray.

Day 63 Wealth
Friday, November 24, 2016

But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? - 1 John 3:17

The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers! - Ecclesiastes 5:11

Making money doesn't result in financial stability. Wealth runs through our fingers as we spend more than we make and wonder how we will pay for everything. It's time for us to put the principles we know into action. God gives us joy in our possessions. He only asks us to use them wisely.

Lord, who provides, we thank You for Your provision. Teach us to value the eternal over the temporal.

Amen.

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps. - Proverbs 16:9

In our lives, we need to learn to let the Lord rule. Giving God control is not a sign of weakness; it is the greatest sign of strength we will ever make. Under the guidance of God, we become conquerors in a world that tries hard to break us down.

Heavenly Father, do not let me be swayed from the path You have set me on. Others may fail me, but You never will.

Day 61 Helping Others
Wednesday, November 23, 2016

Don't get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don't give up. - Galatians 6:9

I tell you, use the riches of this world to help others. In that way, you will make friends for yourselves. Then when your riches are gone, you will be welcomed into your eternal home in heaven. - Luke 16:9

We re given many opportunities to help others. Jesus said that every time we help any person in need, it is as if we have done it for Christ Himself. Let us always reach out and take hold of the chances we have for serving others.

Lord, so often I turn from those in need. Open my eyes and my heart that I might extend the hand of Christ to them.

Day 60 Belief
Tuesday, November 22, 2016

And Jesus said to him, "'If you can'! All things are possible for one who believes." - Mark 9:23

For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. - 2 Peter 1:16

It is not uncommon to run into people who claim the Bible is a collection of fairy tales. But remember, you, like the apostles, are an eyewitness. You were there when Jesus saved you. And you have testimonies from those who observed Jesus' ministry. When people wonder why you believe, tell them.

When others act as if I'm crazy to believe in You, help me not to be offended, Lord. Instead, help me to show them Your truth.

JOY

Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Within me is the unborn possibility of joy that saturates every aspect of my life in varying forms when I allow it.

There is quiet joy that keeps me calm and centered. It is an ever-present source of peace and goodwill, spreading out to touch those around me.

Exuberance is joy that cannot be contained and bursts forth in laughter, song, or the urge to dance. It is pure energy, a direct result of the power within that cannot be uprooted.

Perennial joy surfaces in times of difficulty. It is a gentle reminder that, no matter what is going on in the world around me, I always have hope and a reason to go on.

In whichever form it emerges, joy is an integral part of who I am.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. - Psalm 28:7

Bible promises for Women.
Day 59 God's Correction
Monday, November 21, 2016

For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth. Proverbs 3:12

Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee. Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him. - Deuteronomy 8:5-6

Often God tries to gently lead us along the path of goodness, but we resist. Many times the only way to get our attention is a stinging blow. It is never out of anger, but always out of love.

Break my spirit of defiance, no matter what it takes, so that I might openly receive every instruction that You give.

Amen.

Gravity of Gratitude

In the last days there will come times of stress. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful . . . (2 Timothy 3:1–2)

Notice how ingratitude goes with pride, abuse, and insubordination.

In another place Paul says, "Let there be no obscenity, foolish talk, or coarse joking . . . but rather thanksgiving" (Ephesians 5:4). So it seems that gratitude is the opposite of ugliness and violence.

The reason this is so is that the feeling of gratitude is a humble feeling, not a proud one. It is other-exalting, not self-exalting. And it is glad-hearted, not angry or bitter.

The key to unlocking a heart of gratitude and overcoming bitterness and ugliness and disrespect and violence is a strong belief in God, the Creator and Sustainer and Provider and Hope-giver. If we do not believe we are deeply indebted to God for all we have or hope to have, then the very spring of gratitude has gone dry.

So I conclude that the rise of violence and sacrilege and ugliness and insubordination in the last times is a God-issue. The basic issue is a failure to feel gratitude at the upper levels of our dependence.

When the high spring of gratitude to God fails at the top of the mountain, soon all the pools of thankfulness begin to dry up further down the mountain. And when gratitude goes, the sovereignty of the self condones more and more corruption for its pleasure.

Pray for a great awakening of humble gratitude.

Day 58 Loving Others
Sunday, November 20, 2016

Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' - Matthew 22:37-39

Dear children, let's not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions. 1 John 3:18

People say love is a decision. Sounds simple enough, right? The fact is, that telling others we love them and showing that love are two very different realities. Jesus is the embodiment of active love. He loved those who were thought most unlovable. And we are called to do the same.

Lord, let me be intentional active, and willing to put aside my own desires so that I can love others better.

Help me to teach others by the example of my life what it means to be Christian. I will put my trust in You. Help me to share that trust with others.

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the dishonesty behind impure motives. Thank You for leading me into all truth.

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. - Mark 11:23

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. - James 1:5-6

It is good to know that God is there for us when we turn to Him with our doubts and questions. When we find ourselves faced with new and different beliefs, it is wise to take them to God in Prayer.

Fellowship In The Gospel

Thursday, November 10, 2016

Fellowship In The Gospel

"Fellow labourer in the gospel of Christ."

After being saved, it is difficult to state what your aim in life is, because God has taken you up into His purpose by the Holy Ghost; He is using you now for His purposes throughout the world as He used His Son for the purpose of our salvation. If you seek great things for yourself - God has called me for this and that; you are putting a barrier to God's use of you. As long as you have a personal interest in your own character, or any set ambition, you cannot get through into identification with God's interests. You can only get there by losing for ever any idea of yourself and by letting God take you right out into His purpose for the world, and because your goings are of the Lord, you can never understand your ways.

I have to learn that the aim in life is God's, not mine. God is using me from His great personal standpoint, and all He asks of me is that I trust Him, and never say - Lord, this gives me such heart-ache. To talk in that way makes me a clog. When I stop telling God what I want, He can catch me up for what He wants without let or hindrance. He can crumple me up or exalt me, He can do any thing He chooses. He simply asks me to have implicit faith in Himself and in His goodness. Self pity is of the devil, if I go off on that line I cannot be used by God for His purpose in the world. I have "a world within the world" in which I live, and God will never be able to get me outside it because I am afraid of being frost-bitten.

Those who are lucky enough to find someone to share their lives with enjoy a special gift from God. But for every person, the love of God is very real, and very much freely given. We can be happy because we know we are loved.
