Day 38 God's Faithfulness
Monday, October 31, 2016

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. - Roman 8:28

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. - John 14:18

God never, ever abandons us. No matter how busy we are, He never forgets us. He promised His followers that He would always help and support them, a promise He still keeps today.

Lord, You sent Your Holy Spirit as a helper and guide. No matter how tough our world becomes, let us remember Your presence in our lives.

Day 37 Forgiveness

Bible promises for Women.
Day 37 Forgiveness
Sunday, October 30, 2016

Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea. - Micah 7:18-19

But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. - Mark 11:26

When we knowingly sin against God, we're often hesitant to seek His face for forgiveness. Even in those rare instances when we sin in ignorance, we must still humble ourselves before Him. But we never need fear that He'll turn away from us. Such total forgiveness should bring us back to Him on a daily basis.

Heavenly Father, forgive me for both secret and presumptuous sins. Help me to live faithfully.

Amen.

Day 36 Wealth

Bible promises for Women.
Day 36 Wealth
Saturday, October 29, 2016

I have seen another evil under the sun, and it weighs heavily on mankind: God gives some people wealth, possessions and honor, so that they lack nothing their hearts desire, but God does not grant them the ability to enjoy them, and strangers enjoy them instead. This is meaningless, a grievous evil. - Ecclesiastes 6:1-2

"Sell your possessions and give to those in need. This will store up treasure for you in heaven! And the purses of heaven never get old or develop holes. Your treasure will be safe; no thief can steal it and no moth can destroy it." - Luke 12:33

Though possessions are gifts from God, they can also distract believers from the fact that all in this life is temporary. However, many possessions God gives us, we need to share them generously and store up treasures in heaven.

Heavenly Father, keep my possessions from becoming my focus. I have been blessed with many things; help me to share them with others.

Amen.

Bible promises for Women.
Day 35 Holy Spirit
Friday, October 28, 2016

I tell you that any sinful thing you do or say can be forgiven. Even if you speak against the Son of Man, you can be forgiven. But if you speak against the Holy Spirit, you can never be forgiven, either in this life or in the life to come. - Matthew 12:31-32

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?" - Luke 11:13

Christ died to heal out relationship with God, but the Holy Spirit enables us to live for Him. Our relationship is with the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, and in our lives, each works in concert with the other persons of the Trinity.

Lord, without Your Holy Spirit helping me, I would never be able to live for You. Thank You!

Day 34 Decision Making
Thursday, October 27, 2016

The path of right-living people is level. The Leveler evens the road for the right-living. We're in no hurry, God. We're content to linger in the path sign-posted with your decisions. - Isaiah 26:7-8

I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. - Philippians 3:14

As humans, we often want to cover our bases, assuring ourselves that our decisions are right, but we must not lose ourselves in the analysis. Find your strength in the leadership in the Holy Spirit and move forward with the confidence.

Lord, Help me trust You in the decisions I make throughout my day. Help me stop second guessing myself and trust who You created me to be.

Amen.

Daily Prayer for October 27

2 Corinthians 4:8–10 We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

Lord God, we thank you for your voice even when it is stern and we must go through hardship and suffering. Your voice speaks to us, and in your voice we can be glad and victorious in our life on earth. Come into our lives. May each of us realize that all we have gone through has been for the good. Be God and Lord over the nations. Be a refuge for all people. Grant that the sin and distress of this terrible time may soon pass and that we may hear your words, "Be comforted. I will come soon. All these terrors must pass by. My will is being done. My name must be honored. My kingdom and my rule are coming. So take heart and at all times look to your God and Father in heaven."

Amen.

Day 32 Christian Life
Tuesday, October 25, 2016

Christian brothers, we ask you, because of the Lord Jesus, to keep on living in a way that will please God. I have already told you how to grow in the Christian life. - 1 Thessalonians 4:1

He found Saul and brought him to Antioch, where they met with the church for a whole year and taught many of its people. There in Antioch the Lord's followers were first called Christians. - Acts 11:26

As hard as we might try to live as God would want, we find that we can't quite do it. We need help. God gives us that help if we only seek it. Prayer, scripture, and the support of fellow believers makes living the Christian life much easier and more fulfilling.

When I struggle with life Lord, grant me Your wisdom to lead me through.

And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. - Exodus 33:14

It is not so important that we feel God's presence with us, as it is that we have faith in His being with us always. Feelings come and go, but the presence of God in our lives never changes.

Let me sense Your loving arms around me Lord; but when I don't, help me remember that You are there, anyway.

Day 28 False Teaching
Friday, October 21, 2016

Then the Lord said to me, "The prophets are prophesying falsehood in My name. I have neither sent them nor commanded them nor spoken to them; they are prophesying to you a false vision, divination, futility and the deception of their own minds. Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My name, although it was not I who sent them—yet they keep saying, 'There will be no sword or famine in this land'—by sword and famine those prophets shall meet their end! - Jeremiah 14:14-15

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. - 2 Timothy 3:6-7

We are silly when we are so open minded that we believe things we know are too good to be true - a slick sales pitch, or the unexamined claims of someone offering us something larger, better, or easier. If we are to be truly strong, we must listen to God alone.

Father, I have been confused by many voices in this world. Open my ears to Your voice alone. Settle my heart in Your Word.

Day 27 Reflecting Christ
Thursday, October 20, 2016

If anyone is confident that he is Christ's, let him reflect and remind himself that even as he is Christ's, so too are we. - 2 Corinthians 10:7

If you're abused because of Christ, count yourself fortunate. It's the Spirit of God and his glory in you that brought you to the notice of others. If they're on you because you broke the law or disturbed the peace, that's a different matter. But if it's because you're a Christian, don't give it a second thought. Be proud of the distinguished status reflected in that name! - 1 Peter 4:14-16

When you gave your heart to God, His light came on inside you. Your life should reflect the character and nature of the One who created you. As you point others to God, your light shines, repelling darkness and giving comfort to everyone God brings across your path.

Jesus, show me what I can do and say to let my light shine brightly.

For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. - Psalm 30:5

Some trials are short lived. Others are more complex. As believers, we can find joy in the Lord even as certain trials remain a backdrop in our lives. Your loving heavenly Father has not forgotten you. You may feel that relief will never come, but take courage. It will.

God, where there is anguish in my life, may Your joy enter in. I ask for grace to have my trials, knowing that in time You will replace weeping with Joy.

Many things in life are pricey. Name-brand clothing, cars, even phones. But they will wear out or be used up before long, no matter what the price tag. By contrast, God's preserving unfailing love is priceless. His amazing love was costly, but it's not pricey.

Prayer and the Golden Rule

Ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking and you will find; knock and keep on knocking and the door will be opened to you. - Matthew 7:7

For if we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ. - Hebrews 3:14

God calls for persistence, also known as perseverance, over a dozen times in the New Testament. He means for the trials that come our way to increase our perseverance. When we successfully pass small hurdles, He may put bigger ones in our way. Why? Because He loves us. Persistence results in faith that is pure, molten gold.

Lord, we can only persist because You are unchanging. We pray that we will keep our eyes fixed on You and keep moving forward.

Peace with God don't not always mean a calm time of happiness. The salvation that Jesus brought comes with a price:conflict against evil. But in the end, all who trust in Him experience the peace of eternal life.

While life on earth may be rocky Lord, nothing can upset the peace I have found in You.

Day 19 Laziness
Wednesday, October 12, 2016

The path of lazy people is overgrown with briers; the diligent walk down a smooth road. - Proverbs 15:19

No matter how much you want, laziness won't help a bit, but hard work will reward you with more than enough. - Proverbs 13:4

The Bible give us a simple solution to conquer the sin of sloth. Namely, God admonishes us to do our best in whatever task we undertake, no matter how large of menial the job. As we give our best, God returns the gesture.  He blesses us with a centered life and a more meaningful, productive existence.

Dear Jesus, please forgive me for the times I have been lazy. Empower and remind me to give my best in everything I do, just as You give Your best to me.

How can we learn to be content?  We must start looking to Jesus. If we take hold of all that we have as joint heirs with Christ and as partakers of grace, we will have no desire for the world's riches. We need a fresh vision for who we are in Christ. Therein we will find contentment.

Day 16 Helping Others
Sunday, October 9, 2016

Now we who are strong [in our convictions and faith] ought to [patiently] put up with the weaknesses of those who are not strong, and not just please ourselves. - Romans 15:1

Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles. Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; - Philippians 4:14-15

As our lives become more hectic, and crowded, finding a way to help others, and be helped by them, can open  the door to blessings for everyone, including more time with our family and friends. and more rest for our minds, bodies, and souls. God never meant for us to face our days alone.

Father God, You have brought so many good people into my life. Help me to remember to offer my help to them and to ask for help when I need it.

Day 15 Faith
Saturday, October 8, 2016

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. - Romans 10:17

And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.  And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. - Matthew 14:28-29

To the skeptic, logic must pervade every situation. But to the person of faith, logic gives way to faith. Even when our prayers remain unanswered, we continue to pray. Even when God is silent, we continue to believe. And even though we grope for answers, we continue to trust.  In all situations, GOd asks us to hold fast to our faith.

Dear Lord, please forgive me for allowing our problems to undermine my faith.  I trust You, knowing that my faith in You is never futile.

Amen.

As for every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, and given him power to eat of it, to receive his heritage and rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God. - Ecclesiastes 5:19

Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness. Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle. - Proverbs 23:4-5

Having money and possessions isn't wrong. Even having high-priced possessions isn't wrong. But there is something missing when our desire for wealth outweighs our desire for God.  We may hold on too tightly to things that don't have external value and not cling closely enough to the one who does.

Lord, help me to give back to You what you have given to me.
