Whirlwind of Enlightenment

Definition of WHIRLWIND

1. : a small rotating windstorm of limited extent
2. : a confused rush : Whirl <a whirlwind of meetings>
3. : a violent or destructive force or agency

When you seek, you shall find. In my chaotic few weeks, I have struggled to find an explanation, and/or answers how to get past this without lashing out.

Then..this was shared with me late last night.

Names have been removed because this is advice to ME, not them.

"You are pissed off and frustrated because none of them are behaving the way you think they should.

You are still being sucked in by this dysfunctional merry-go-round……you are still emotionally and detrimentally enmeshed in this.

If you want to get untangled from this mess, you will have to change your reaction, and thought process to maintain your mental health and find some peace.

Your anger serves no good purpose. You need to let go; give it to God….He’s got lessons to give.

When you feel yourself being pulled in, all you need to do is, (say aloud or in your head)…..“Bless them on their chosen path”, and get out of the way.   ‘Stick With You’ because you are the only one you can change.

By setting this example for your own, maybe you can break the cycle of enmeshment in your daughter's future relationships."

Thank you for this great advice Aja.  I know I can sit in my own pity party, lash out, or decide the only thing I can do is accept my fate, and break the patterns passed down from generations of dysfunction.

Sharing light with Kimmy. Striving to create a path between the present course of events and a new course; leading to new outcomes.

  2. Great advice, Spot on I would say, and probably just what you needed to hear. Follow this advice and slowly the whirlwind will disappear. Although hard at first, time makes it easier. And in time you will have that peace, trust me when I tell you that because I've been where you are. You are a strong women, I know you'll make it through!!

  3. Hang in there.... While everyone encounters their own: Physical and Spiritual Storms - that, which doesn't kill you, can only make you Far Stronger! Every Blessing is A Curse... and, Every Curse is [ indeed ] A Very Great Blessing. That's why, in Hebrew, there's only one single word for both spiritual applications.

    Shalom.
