Oh Darlin - What makes a best friend

Barbara Thomas Davis - AKA Bobbi Davis is how I knew her.

I miss her.

I never had to worry about her judging me, nor did I judge her.  We were straight-forward with each other.  She never looked at my hair or nails and told me I should go to the salon.  Bobbi understood that I worked hard, and did what I could in the time I had.  Although she did not work full time, she never threw it in my face that I had to work on Presidents Day.  She got me.

I worshiped her confidence and talent.  Deep down, she was different than anyone I met. She was afraid, and then she wasn't.  My husband adored her. She was real. She had her demons like the rest of us, but didn't have to run a person down to make herself feel better.

We never really had a falling out. Lives just went different directions.  I had two jobs, and I was drinking whenever I wasn't working.  I was a mess, and my hermit life began. I shut everyone out, and drank most nights alone, at home, till I passed out.

I didn't even know she died.

If you thought my drinking was bad before, I finished double after I heard the news.  I reached out to Dean, her ex-husband.. and it was wonderful. We talked on the phone, and online, and we both just lived on the her good memories.

Tyler, her son posted a picture of himself and his momma. I couldn't look for a second without crying.

I have only been sober for just over a year, by my own choice, and I am beginning to feel, once again.

I can miss her every day, and remember what I once had.  A best friend.. whom I didn't judge, and whom didn't judge me.

Every other friend I have had before or since hasn't been the same.

I cherish her in my heart.. today and forever.

I tried to make a dedication Facebook page for her, but can't get past the first few minutes. I will try again soon.

Philosophy of the False Dawn

Again and again, human race is being misguided.

Is it a reality or just a fake refraction?

When light pierces the black sky- only my world is being illuminated.

Why is it still dark? Why light hides herself from the eyes of the mighty west?

Look around your enlightened soul
Listen to the trumpets-
Of the embryonic spring
That is crying aloud-
For the paucity of budding flowers
Cautiously hear the chirps-
Of the perished sparrows
They are moaning-
For the lack of water and food
And chew the perplexity-
Of the soaring minds
Which are craving-
For more and more

Every morning we wake up
And leave the bed-
Of heavenly desires
To fulfill the appetite-
Of our burning stomach
Some get the best reward-
Of the minor struggle
And most remain deprived-
Even after bloody perspiration

Then again dark engulfs the dying sun
The mighty west gets brightened
And the unworthy east
Falls into transitory peace
Destined to rise once again
From the trance of ephemeral dawn

BLAH - Walk away and turn on music

*********VENTING POST********  (lol)

Annoyed with my intimate circle. I walked away.. shut my cell and work phone off, and turned on Stockholm Syndrome by MUSE (video below)

Stockholm syndrome is a term used to describe a paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express adulation and have positive feelings towards their captors that appear irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, essentially mistaking a lack of abuse from their captors as an act of kindness.

I am captured by my own damn psyche sometimes.

I realize that lack of communication that I need help, is my downfall.  I need to lose the ego a bit, and state my requests. Is that a sign of being weak? Is that showing my cards while still in the round?  I don't have the answer.

I get busy, I get annoyed.   Asking for help is not my strong suit.

I consider the intelligence of the people I assume understand that help is needed, and then get even more annoyed when they look at the stress wrinkles under my eyes and wonder when they all turned to morons.

But that's my ego right... wink (hehe)

NAG NAG NAG was all I read, when I RE-READ this.

Who cares.. I am posting anyway.  Thanks for allowing me to show me my venting blah Kimmy side.

Capture Love

If I could capture a moment
I would capture it with you
Wrap you in my arms
And make your dreams come true

If I could capture the moon and it's brilliance
I would shine it down on you
To show you how you illuminate
The brightness that is given to you

If I could capture a rainbow
I would put a pot of gold at the end
To wish you good luck
In everything you did

Now I see something I can capture
That smile on your face
I see it with my eyes,
In it's own grace

A beautiful site that's for sure
To trace with my fingertips and explore
And bring to my face
To seal with a kiss
And a warm embrace
This is all it would take
If I could capture a moment with you

Happy Valentine's Day to those that honor love no matter what. This is my 22nd Valentine's day with my husband. It is nice to be loved! I wish that people would realize, with love, truly all is possible.

Peace is found within

Peace is found within, but not outside.

We are peaceful beings but external situations pull us away from our peace if we let them.

When there is not a very positive situation that we are confronted with, we need to save ourselves from the pull of the outside situation and rely on the peace within.

Every morning practice being a peaceful being who is totally in charge of yourself.

When you make this practice firm when difficult situations do come you will be able to rely more on your internal peace instead of getting carried away by the external situations.

Impassable Roads in McHenry County

Yesterday at 3pm
I peeked in on my daughter, who is working from home today, in the computer room.  She has her headset on, her laptop, and her desktop (dual) monitor hooked up, logged into her VPN, and taking help desk calls.  I quickly closed the door, knowing she in at "work" and doesn't need "mom" bugging her.

Morning 2-2-2011
As I sit here, family safe in my house. I am laughing and smiling sn'omg in.

Rick is logging in remote to his computer.  He works with the car manufacturers, and when he tried to log in to Ford, the laptop saw their system as a Virus. Now that's funny... (Especially being a Chevy girl myself)  Yes, yes, I know Jaguar is a Ford product.

I have to really count my blessings.  I worked for a large Telco company in the 90s, and they would expect, demand you to be there, even risking life and limb.

2-2-2011 (that's a 6 foot fence in the back)
With technology today, companies can trust that most people appreciate staying home, and will, like my daughter, be up and ready to go at 7am to assist others.

In the 90s, we talked about "Seamless" service.  It only took about 20 years to actually mean it.

Stay safe everyone.

Dude, Where's my pool?

Sheriff's Office: Do not travel

'Crippling' blizzard continues throughout morning

CRYSTAL LAKE – The McHenry County Sheriff's Office warns that most roads remain impassable this morning as a crippling blizzard continues to make its way through the area.
The "potentially killer blizzard" is expected to continue this morning, according to the National Weather Service.

"Visibilities are so poor in open areas that motorists could become disoriented and unable to even see beyond the hood of their cars," the National Weather Service warns. "Before considering getting on the roads this morning ... ask yourself if getting to your destination is worth risking your life."

The Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District responded to a call about 2:15 a.m. for two snowmobilers who were hit by a front-end loader.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Route 47 and Freeman Road in Hebron. The two male snowmobilers were transported to Centegra Hospital - McHenry by two ambulances, one from Hebron and another from Richmond.

Paths were cleared by township road crews assisted by local farmers using snowblowing machines to cut through some of the heaviest drifts, according to Richmond Fire Chief Rick Gallas.
Gallas also reported that the ambulances left the scene at 5:03 a.m. and arrived at the hosptal at 6:14 a.m.

"This is just one of those things that happened in the blizzard of 2011," Gallas said.

At about 6 a.m., three of the county's 13 plows were stuck, said Mark DeVries, McHenry County road maintenance superintendent.

"They can't go anywhere," he said. "They can't back up. They can't move for whatever reason, which may be cars in front and back."
