My Wednesday blog is about Ryan Douglas Hurst's Character Opie, on Sons of Anarchy on FX Networks.
You might have seen Ryan on his breakout performance starring opposite Denzel Washington in Disney's mega-hit Remember the Titans, for which he also directed the film's second unit footage. Additional high-profile feature film roles include Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, the Coen Brothers' The Ladykillers with Tom Hanks, We Were Soldiers with Mel Gibson, Patch Adams with Robin Williams and Rules of Engagement with Samuel L. Jackson. Hurst's 15 years of steady, wide raging television credits include Steven Spielberg's Taken (mini-series, 10 episodes), TNT's action packed cop drama Wanted Emmy® award winning Medium (three seasons, reoccurring). Without sounding ridiculous, this character for Ryan shows me again the difference between acting, and true UNREAL talent. As I re watch season one, and this season, I can't find words to describe how friggin scary his gift is.
I know I cannot be the only one that gets emotion pulled right from them!
I watch Medium with the kids, and it's difficult to believe Ryan plays both roles.
I wish I was a true tv and movie writer to explain what I feel. Luckily I have Alan Sepinwall. He is an awesome writer for the Star Ledger, critic, and fellow blogger ---> here on What's Alan Watching.
Please don't take my word on it! Put the kids to bed, and watch this show. Enjoy for yourself.
Kurt Sutter's Sons of Anarchy is worth every Tuesday! The ENTIRE cast makes me smile, and the MUSIC is out of this world. If you decide to watch, I am on Twitter, tweeting away while watching! http://twitter.com/abutterflyloves
